To do this, you only need to make two measurements: Take the length of your room, take the width of your room, and then multiply the two. This gives you your square footage, which determines the blade span that will effectively cool your room. For example, a room 10 feet long by 10 feet wide totals 100 sq. ft. LESS ENERGY, MORE STYLE Ceiling fans use less energy than air conditioners. If you are looking for the most energy-efficient fan, make sure to select a model with a DC motor. These can use up to 70% less energy than a regular AC motor. Some fans feature a reversible motor, so you can circulate warm air in the winterand save money year-round. The fun part, of course, is selecting the style of fan to complement the design of your interior and the finishes in your room. Today you have the choice of everything from Craftsman and traditional to modern and contemporary.Brushed or satin nickel are still the most popular finishes, but brass, black, and metallics are gaining. Don't be afraid to go big and bold in style and finish to add extra pizzazz to your space. FANTASTIC CEILING FAN This fan is installed in the vaulted ceiling of the family room. The design is very modern and the wood color is a beautiful contrast to the white walls. Everyone immediately noticed the fan. Bumper BEAUTIFUL MODERN CEILING FAN This fan is gorgeous!! I have had many compliments on it without even pointing it out. A great clean contemporary look. I didn't want a light kit on the fan when I first started looking but the light on this fan is very low profile but puts out a nice low or high light.
